2017 Autumn harvest update

I'm very happy to share that our first batch of Autumn cakes have just arrived!

It was hard to get a good amount of Maocha this year - the late harvest and prolonged rains meant low overall production. The resulted in even more competition for the already rare gushu harvests. We were struggling to get the right quantity for cake pressings. Luckily, we have been in business long enough that there's always a good few kgs set aside from our favourite gushu producers.

We have also brought in a production from a farmer based in Yangjiazhai (杨家寨). Known by others as part of the greater Wangong area (弯弓) and too often just labeled as such. However, we were very impressed by this farmer's production and he gave a good market price which means we can pay it forward to our customers who want a (slightly) more accessible Wangong-like tea. Look forward to my pics and notes on this tea as it's an amazing tea for the price point.

I really look forward to tasting these productions over the next few weeks, once they've been properly rested. In the meantime, if you can't wait, they're already on the website now.
