Yiwu Gushu - Spring 2012. This blend of Yiwu gushu spent six months of storage as maocha, then pressed in Yiwu then sent to be stored in GZ for over 5 years.
Very little bitterness left in these leaves as the cake has matured very nicely. Super clean liquor with a slight sweetness on the tongue and long, lingering sweetness in the throat. We brewed it 24 times in our setup. This would be considered an easy drinker, with a typical Yiwu full-bodied flavour and the chaqi nicely balanced with alertness and relaxing without being too strong. The age is just about right for this tea - this would easily be my recommendation for a chilled out tea-time with friends and family, and a mild, 'safe' introduction to Yiwu for new drinkers.
More adventurous Puer drinkers who want a stronger punch to their gushu would likely enjoy the single estate offerings such as Wan Gong, Gaoshan or Chawangshu.
